Plan a pilgrimage around the chosen shrines, walking stages and official access requirements. A road transfer and the pilgrimage beyond the vehicle drop are separate parts of the programme.

Plan a pilgrimage that works for your family
Choose the shrines you want to visit, the days you have and the pace your group can manage. Udan Travel Ind Services can prepare a transport or hotel-and-transport quotation from Delhi / NCR. Start with the ten journeys below, then ask for a clear route, night-by-night stay plan and written price for your dates.
A good pilgrimage plan gives you time to rest, eat and reach the temple entrance without rushing. It also explains where the vehicle stops and what happens after that point. Tell us about children, older guests, large bags and walking limits before choosing a vehicle or paying for arrangements.
These new private road plans include Delhi transfers and a specific overnight split. Open a package for its day-wise programme, walking and parking advice, vehicle choices and written-quotation checklist. Services and availability are confirmed for your actual dates.
Which pilgrimage should you choose?
For a short Ganga-side journey: Haridwar–Rishikesh is a useful starting point when the group wants ghats, aarti and selected temples without a high-altitude trek. Choose a manageable ghat programme instead of trying every attraction. Agree the meeting point after aarti because crowds can separate a family quickly.
For a temple circuit: 9 Devi Darshan needs a confirmed list of shrines. Different groups use different combinations, so the title alone is not enough to price the journey. Share the must-visit temples and check the order, drive between stops and hotel bases. Give crowded or important shrines their own time window.
For Vaishno Devi: Katra is the road base, not the end of the pilgrimage. Keep time to rest before the onward journey and after returning. Choose a hotel by its real location, access and room plan. Do not assume a vehicle booking includes registration, helicopter seats or Shrine Board accommodation.
For seasonal mountain pilgrimages: Amarnath and Hemkund Sahib require more planning than a regular sightseeing holiday. Check current opening and access rules first. The travel date must fit the permitted pilgrimage programme. Allow spare time for weather, road restrictions and changes to onward movement.
For a Rajasthan temple visit: Mehandipur Balaji and Khatu Shyam are separate destinations. Tell us whether one shrine or both are essential, and whether you need a hotel night. A shorter list with time for darshan can be more comfortable than a packed circuit that leaves no room for queues.
For Braj, choose between a short Govardhan visit and a dedicated parikrama. For Ayodhya–Varanasi, keep separate city stays and a return staging night. The Amritsar–Anandpur Sahib circuit gives each pilgrimage centre its own time. Ajmer–Pushkar–Salasar adds a distinct Salasar stage rather than rushing a weekend.
The new Char Dham and Do Dham plans use staged driving and separate onward pilgrimage arrangements. The new Himachal sample defines six specific temples; a nine-Devi request needs an exact shrine list and a revised schedule. Open the detailed page to review the night split before choosing.
Delhi road routes, approximate distance and travel time
Use these broad one-way planning ranges to compare the first road base. They are estimates from Delhi, not live navigation times or guaranteed arrival slots. Your exact pickup, highway choice, road works, traffic, breaks and hotel entrance can change both distance and time. Ask for a current map-based route before confirming.
First Delhi road-base transfer only; onward legs and pilgrimage time are additional.
Do not use a highway estimate as the time needed to complete darshan. Temple queues, local shuttles, walking, security checks and the return to parking are separate. For long drives, choose a proper rest schedule rather than relying on an overnight road transfer followed immediately by a demanding pilgrimage.
How to build a practical day-wise itinerary
Example: Haridwar–Rishikesh in three days. Day 1: leave Delhi with planned breaks, check in and visit a selected Haridwar ghat if arrival allows. Day 2: give Rishikesh a separate visit window, with chosen temples or riverside areas and a clear parking-and-walking plan. Day 3: keep a relaxed departure, selected remaining visits if practical and the Delhi return. Confirm the aarti venue rather than promising two evening programmes on the same day.
Example: Katra with a dedicated pilgrimage day. Plan the first day for the long road journey and rest. Keep a separate day for the onward Vaishno Devi journey, subject to registration and the group’s pace. Allow recovery time before the return drive. An additional hotel night may be sensible when the group returns late or needs a slower programme. The night split should be written in the proposal.
Example: Mehandipur–Khatu with an overnight stop. Select the first temple according to the group’s priority and current access. Keep one main darshan window, a hotel stay and the second temple on the following day if the route and queues allow. Ask for the distance between temples and the final Delhi return estimate. Avoid adding unrelated sightseeing when the pilgrimage is the main reason for travel.
For 9 Devi, Hemkund and Amarnath: ask for a separate custom day sheet. It should show each road leg, hotel or camp base, walking stage and return buffer. The precise shrine order, permitted route or opening programme must be confirmed before counting nights. An itinerary should be adjusted if access changes, rather than treating the printed plan as a guarantee.
Darshan, registration, walking and parking: check before booking
For Vaishno Devi, use the official Shrine Board registration guidance. Confirm the current registration and RFID process before the onward journey. Book Shrine Board services through its official channels. Udan’s road or hotel quotation does not issue a pilgrimage entitlement or guarantee a helicopter seat. Ask which services you must arrange directly.
For Amarnath, consult the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board for the applicable season, registration, required documents and current instructions. Select the permitted route and base only after these checks. Road transport to Jammu or Kashmir is separate from the onward pilgrimage. Never assume that a package enquiry reserves a camp, permit or helicopter allocation.
For Hemkund Sahib, check Uttarakhand Tourism’s destination guidance and the current opening and trail notices. The road approach ends below the shrine; Ghangaria is a trekking base. Ask for the actual road drop, local transfer if needed, walking stages and overnight arrangements. The quoted road vehicle does not drive to Hemkund Sahib.
For every shrine, ask about the permitted vehicle drop, parking location and walking distance to the entrance. A hotel described as “near the temple” may still involve slopes, steps or a crowded lane. Confirm the route using a location pin. Local rules can restrict cameras, bags, phones or entry at certain times. Use current temple instructions rather than an old travel message.
Be cautious about anyone offering guaranteed VIP darshan, instant permits or queue bypass without an official basis. Ask who supplies each service and what document confirms it. Agree a backup plan if a shrine is closed or movement is restricted. The practical choice may be a revised stop order, an extra night or a different travel date.
Travel advice for families, older guests and groups
Tell us the practical needs of your group, such as a shorter walking limit, help with steps or more frequent breaks. You do not need to put medical records in a website enquiry. For a demanding high-altitude journey, ask a qualified clinician for personal suitability advice and follow the relevant shrine authority’s requirements. A spacious road vehicle does not make a steep pilgrimage walk easy.
Choose hotels by access as well as price. Request the property name, room category, lift information if needed, floor preference, hot-water arrangements and vehicle approach. Confirm whether the room has one double bed, twin beds or an extra bed. Count children in the passenger total and discuss their room arrangement separately.
Keep one group coordinator and a clear meeting point. Share a phone number with the driver, agree how long the vehicle waits and arrange a regrouping time after darshan. Do not assume mobile reception works everywhere. Keep essential instructions and hotel details available offline, and carry only the documents required for your chosen route.
Plan simple meal stops and discuss vegetarian preferences before booking. A preferred meal style is a request until the hotel or restaurant confirms it. Carry water and useful personal essentials for the walking stage, while following local bag restrictions. Leave enough time for footwear storage, security and the walk back to the road pickup.
Choose your road vehicle and package type
A car or SUV can suit a smaller party. Urbania or Tempo Traveller options can suit a family group that wants to travel together. A mini bus or bus may suit a larger group on an appropriate route. The actual choice depends on passengers, bags, road access and available vehicle configuration, not only the advertised seat count.
Ask for the offered vehicle’s current pictures, passenger seating layout and luggage arrangement. Discuss air conditioning, seat style and other requested facilities for that specific vehicle. Confirm whether the entire group and its bags fit without blocking seats or the aisle. Vehicle access on narrow hill roads and at particular hotels needs a route check.
Choose transport only if you want to arrange hotels and pilgrimage services yourself. Choose a hotel-and-transport proposal if you want a written stay plan with selected services. In either case, ask who arranges local guides, shuttles, trekking support or shrine services. These should not be assumed to come with the road vehicle.
Current vehicle photos and seating details are available on WhatsApp or email before booking.
What changes the price, and what should be included?
A useful quotation starts with dates, exact pickup, passenger count and the chosen shrines. The final price can depend on vehicle days, route distance, hotel nights, room sharing, season and local arrangements. A very low headline amount is hard to compare if tolls, parking, driver allowance or required stays are missing.
Ask the proposal to state vehicle category, included kilometres or route basis, daily time limits if any, driver allowance, tolls, parking, state charges and taxes. For hotels, ask for the property name, room category, total rooms, night split and meal plan. Confirm which sightseeing transfers are included and whether the vehicle waits during the pilgrimage stage.
Keep exclusions equally clear: temple donations, paid local services, guides, permits where applicable, helicopter tickets, shuttles, trekking support, personal expenses and additional use may be separate unless expressly quoted. Read the rate for an extra kilometre, extra hour, extra night or changed drop before booking. Do not assume an activity or service is included because it appears in the itinerary.
For a group, compare the total written cost before calculating a per-person share. Changing the number of guests can change room sharing and vehicle size. Ask what happens if a traveller cancels or the itinerary changes. Review payment stages, cancellation terms and the treatment of weather-related disruption before accepting the proposal.
How to request and confirm your pilgrimage trip
1. Send your trip details. Choose the route, dates, pickup area, guest count, luggage and hotel preference. Mark the essential shrines and optional visits. Mention a fixed return deadline at this stage, including a flight or train connection that needs enough buffer.
2. Review the proposed programme. Check each overnight base, daily road leg, temple window and walking stage. Ask for a slower option if the plan looks crowded. Confirm current official access separately where needed, and clarify who arranges each local service.
3. Compare the complete quotation. Review the actual vehicle, hotel details if requested, inclusions, exclusions and extra-use rates. Ask for current vehicle photos and the written payment and cancellation terms. A message asking for availability is not a reservation.
4. Confirm the agreed services. Proceed only after availability and the booking conditions are clear. Keep the accepted itinerary, payment acknowledgement and contact instructions together. Recheck important road and pilgrimage conditions before departure, especially for seasonal or regulated routes.
Religious tour planning: useful questions
Can I book only the vehicle from Delhi?
Yes, ask for a transport-only quotation and explain that you will arrange hotels and local pilgrimage services. Confirm the route, vehicle days, waiting and final drop in writing.
Are hotels and meals automatically included?
No. Ask for the hotel name, room category, night split and meal plan in the confirmed quotation. A featured package card describes a journey, not a fixed list of included services.
Which trip is easier for a short family visit?
Compare a focused Haridwar–Rishikesh visit or a selected Rajasthan shrine trip with the time available. Check walking, queues and hotel access for your own group before choosing. No route is automatically suitable for every traveller.
Does a Katra package include Vaishno Devi registration or helicopter seats?
Do not assume it does. Follow the official Shrine Board process and confirm any separately arranged service. Road transport to Katra is different from the onward pilgrimage.
Can the vehicle reach Hemkund Sahib or the Amarnath cave?
No road vehicle booking implies access to those shrines. Confirm the permitted road base and separate onward pilgrimage stages. Seasonal rules, registration and current conditions apply.
Can we choose our own nine Devi temples?
Send your exact shrine list. Ask for a revised temple order, road schedule and hotel plan before confirming, because the chosen circuit changes the number of days and cost.
Can we get a fixed all-inclusive price?
Request a written total for the agreed dates, route, guests and services, with inclusions, exclusions and extra-use rates. Availability and the final price need confirmation; the enquiry form does not calculate a fare.
What happens if a road or shrine is closed?
Discuss the proposed alternative route, extra-night charges and cancellation terms before booking. Current authority instructions may require a revised programme. Access and darshan cannot be guaranteed.
Does the enquiry form send my details or confirm a booking?
No. It prepares a draft on this page. Review it, then choose WhatsApp or email and send it through your app. A booking requires separate availability and service confirmation.
Can I ask for a different religious destination?
Yes. Choose a custom pilgrimage in the enquiry and list the shrines you want. Ask for a fresh route, stay plan and quotation rather than assuming the featured journeys cover every destination.

Destination and sightseeing choices
Temple circuits and pilgrimage bases are the main themes for this section. Use the individual pages below to compare the route, sample itinerary and local conditions before asking for a quotation.
When to travel
Use the relevant shrine or tourism authority for current access. A vehicle enquiry does not confirm darshan, helicopter seats or a pilgrimage allocation.
What to send with your enquiry
Send your date, exact Delhi pickup, total passengers, large bags, overnight preferences and final return or onward drop. Tell us which sights are essential and which are optional so the programme can be built around the group.
Confirm the complete package
Ask for the actual vehicle or bus service, property and room category, meal plan, tickets and local arrangements. The written quotation should explain billing, driver allowance, tolls, parking, waiting, taxes, payment and cancellation terms. No fixed fare or availability guarantee is published here.
Common planning questions
Can we change the overnight bases and sightseeing?

Does a package card mean hotels and meals are included?
No automatic inclusion is implied by a card. Use the confirmed written quotation to check the exact property, room plan, meals and services.
